It starred Carole Lombard, Jack Benny, Robert Stack, Felix Bressart, Lionel Atwill, Stanley Ridges and Sig Ruman.

A film was adapted by Ernst Lubitsch (uncredited) and Edwin Justus Mayer from the story by Melchior Lengyel. It was directed by Lubitsch.

It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Music, Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture. A film has been deemed "culturally significant" per United States Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry.

A motion-picture show was freed fallowing actress Carole Lombard died within an aeroplane crash.

To Become Or even Does'nt To Exist as'' was remade in 1983 by Mel Brooks. This remaking of a film was one of the 1st major Our contries films to acknowledge that gay humans were sportsmen of Third Reich, along with Jews, Gypsies & political dissidents. This version was super faithful to a 1942 version, around several events a dialog was word for word from either the earliest film.
